I am glad it was not painful for you. In general bondage is not painful and is not meant to be. While there are people in the community who practice sadistic bondage, and masochists who enjoy being bound this way, most of the people I know who practice bondage do so because they feel sexier being bound or are turned on more by the act of binding and seeing their partner(s) bound.
I am not gay, but I am a rigger and am always happy to talk about bondage, especially rope bondage. I see you are in OH. I happen to know that there is a very active pansexual bondage community in Cincinnati. Columbus also has a community and while I don't actually know about Cleveland I am sure that there is also a sizeable community there.
