constantlylearning has a spectacular aura about
No way on the Mavericks. Once upon a time, I was OK at another sport but
it certainly was not surfing. That surf is above my "pay grade." They told
stories about how the Mavericks "radiate" danger. Foo was a great Hawaiian
surfer who obviously came to surf the Maverick. I actually read a magazine
article about the whole deal. That surf is simply TOO Large. I was actually
there and down to Carmel/Monterey for another pursuit on land but along the
coast on green grass........LOL. Not much green grass there which sort of
blew me away. They say off the breaks there is some DEEP ocean there at
Half Moon Bay. That is big wave surfing at it's best regardless of what North
Shore surfers say especially when you combine all the elements......frigid
water, power/height of the waves, rock subsurface, the length you must
paddle to actually get to the surf............NO THANKS.
