Unfortunately, the intense discomfort has not gone away. I still seized up during the exam, and even only half-inserting a Q-tip for a culture was incredibly uncomfortable and brought me near to tears. It wasn't quite painful, but it still felt awful. Boy, do I ever hear you. There may be a further complication, or you may be expecting pain. Try this on your own, in your house, after a glass of something, when you're relaxed. Relaxation is the key here. If you still feel that same intense pain after attempting insertion in a comfortable environment, you may want to go back and talk to the GYN.
