Oh of course not!! I wouldn't want to do that!! I want to depend on myself, I want to hold my own, I want to be able to tell my husband good-bye or allow him to leave without me having to worry about my financial situation. I will not be one of those women who are desperate to stay with their husbands because they worry about being left with nothing, or having to pay bills (speaking mainly of middle and lower class).

In all honesty you will find the dependency in all classes; some stay b/c they do not want to change the lifestyle they have been afforded; therefore, they end up in a marriage of convenience. Odd part is no one wins in a divorce it's only degrees of loosing. In some circles divorce is not an option this is why you see many stay due to family names being disgraced.
