I am a bit pleased to have upset you and I am glad that you and your wife have learned to adapt. Enjoy while you can because those hundred excess pounds are taking their toll.

Thanks for your response Brandye.
My wife and I are under no delusions we can keep our excess weight on. We each have health issues relating to weight, and know that more are on the way. We're working on it. (In fact, we just got back from the gym.) My wife is preparing for gastric bypass surgery. If her surgery is a success, and I can apply the lessons I've learned the past times I've tried to make a change and failed, a year from now we are looking forward to being healthier, having an even better sex life, and hopefully improved fertility.
My point is this. In some cases (such as mine) being overweight is due to not doing what needs to be done. In others it is more complicated. Using my wife as an example, she has been struggling with weight her entire life. Over the years the only thing had a significant impact was Phen-Phen, which was pulled from the market. To imply that it because that an obese person simply doesn't care or won't make the effort isn't true, and when coming from a doctor, not helpful.
I hope your hearing goes well for you.
