I believe you are asking the opposite question that should be asked. So many of the concerns we answer hinge on couples (mostly lead by the guys) wondering why the sexual side of their relationship is having problems. Much of the time the reasons stem from not spending this time making out, going right to the genitals with little prep for the foreplay.
How about a poll to go along with this that asks the question "who here thinks they need to make out for 45 minutes without going any farther before your hand moves beyond your partner's butt?"
