1. When you were growing up, who in your family or extended family provided you with the most information about sex and sexual body parts?
Probably my mother, unless you count books!

2. Did this person inform you that you had a clitoris as well as a vagina?
Yes

3. Did this person inform you that you had a vulva as well as a vagina?
No

4. Did this person inform you that girls and women can have orgasms?
No

5. Did this person inform you that female orgasms are usually experienced through stimulation of the clitoris rather than vaginal intercourse?
No

6. Did this person provide you with any information about female masturbation?
Yes

If your answer to 6 is Yes, please tell me a little about the information you were given about female masturbation:
"Keep it to your bed."

7. Did this person provide you with any information about same-sex female relationships and lesbian sexuality?
No

If your answer to 7 is Yes, please tell me a little about the information you were given about same sex female relationships and lesbian sexuality.

8. Did this person provide you with any information about sex toys or vibrators?
No

If your answer to 8 is Yes, please tell me a little about the information you were given about sex toys or vibrators.

9. What did this person tell you about why girls have a vagina? That is, what were your taught about the purpose of a girl's vagina?
Keeping in mind that my mum used "vagina" as a catch-all term for all the parts except the urethra and clitoris... Originally? Girls have vaginas to urinate with. When I started asking more questions, she told me that there was a part of the vagina that connected with the uterus, and that when a baby was ready to be born, the baby would come out of that part- but she hastened to add that that was not the same part of the vagina that was urinated out of! I don't believe my mother ever told me directly about the sexual nature of the vagina; that much I heard from books.

10. What did this person tell you about why boys have a penis? That is, what were your taught about the purpose of a boy's penis?
We had male dogs. I learnt early that boys have penises to pee with. It wasn't until I started reading that I learnt about the penis being a sex organ.

11. How old are you today?
Old enough to know better, and young enough not to care.

12. How old were you when you first learned that you had something called a vagina?
Quite young.

13. Which state or country did you live in when you first learned that you had something called a vagina?
U.S. of A.

14. Are you Latina, Black, Asian, White, or Native American?
White.

15. Was your mother Latina, Black, Asian, White, or Native American?
White.

16. What is the last grade of school that your mother had completed when you first learned that you had a vagina? Did she have a college degree? Did she have more education than a college degree?
My mother has a master's degree in education. The ironic thing is that as a phys. ed. teacher, she teaches secondary-school sex ed.

Needless to say, my younger sister knows that if she has questions, I am the person less likely to stammer and blush. I am also not going to kill her if I find out she's sexually active. My mother is a wonderful woman and I'm lucky to have her. However, she is a bit of a prude about sex and sexual matters, which is why I learnt most of what I know from textbooks.
