I know also you aren't able to donate blood when you have a cold sore... I guess since the virus isn't dormate.. but active at the time. I found this out b/c my friend and her husband went to donate blood a few yrs ago after all the hurricanes here in FL...and well.. he got away w/ not having too since he had a cold sore LOL... what a punk! |
I THINK the reason is b/c he had an active infection and his immune system was compromised. I don't know a lot about blood donation since I was stuck with a blood drawing needle from a HIV patient and my ex was bi; therefore, I am excluded for life.
