well that the japanese did not invade because of an armed population I call BS !
firstly america is hudreds of times larger than america they had no chance japan is a rocky island it can't support that many people, thats why they used very very carefully planed attacks like at perl harbour, those 6 odd ships that brought the planes to perl habour were all that the japanese had as a navy but they demonstrated that careful planning could way outwit brut but careless thinking power if america had of thought carefully they would have anticipated the attack. the japanese had less "fire power" but did more damage with what little they had
japanese civilians are no more unarmed that american as i recall many study self defense methods the proportion percentage wise is way higher than any other country, I'm afraid being big and powerful is not enough unless you think about what the hell you are doing all that power is a waste
