Taking away guns only gives criminals a governmental guarentee that their victims are unarmed.
There is a reason that our founding father included it in the Bill of Rights and made it #2. Furthermore, it is the only Amendment over which the first between the Federalists and Anti-Federalists was regarding who got to claim credit for writing it. Says something, doesn't it...
