If you think you're clean, you probably are. When you're in the shower you can take a little lube on your finger and check just to make sure. Personally I usually rinse with one of those Fleet-type enema bottles that I've emptied out and filled with warm tap water. If the water comes back clean I'm good to go. If not another one or two rinses takes care of the problem. Don't over do it though . . . . You really shouldn't need any more fluid than that, you only want to clean the lower part of the colon. If too much water is introduced you might not expel it all and that can cause more mess than what you're trying to prevent. Even with that precaution there's no guarantee there won't be residue, but it should be minimal.
