The motion to be used is exactly the same as when riding a horse and posting to the trot - up and forward, down and backward - using your knees as a fulcrum. You are straddling him on your knees btw - facing him and staying upright. An alternative is to lean over him and move toward his head and then toward his feet - back and forth - which will translate to in and out for him.
Get your 'girl' on and pounce upon him like a cat - he'll love it!
