I know this may seem a little strange, but if you want to do it for your boyfriend, but are feeling very nervous about it, perhaps you can see if he'd be willing to share it with you. If he's willing to do it, you'll probably find it a little easier to handle it yourself (though I'm a guy, so I guess I wouldn't know what it is like to be in your position).
