I'm not sure I understand your bulleted points, but your last sentence is pretty close to the mark. I'm sometimes fond of saying, "Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it." When you start elevating particular groups or issues you create polarization and segregation. (To some extent, Brandy's Chick Chat does that... no boys allowed? LOL) Why are "gay issues" any more important than, say, staying a virgin... or having threesomes... or... Shouldn't virgins and people who want threesomes have their own special forum as well?

This is what might be called a "flawed" poll because it (however unintentionally) gets the results it seeks - that's why the posted comments don't match the votes.

However, when you cut away all the BS, we need to remember that a web site with a forum is ultimately about traffic and in the final analysis most decisions are economic in nature, not necessarily politically or logically sound.
