If you couln't already figure out from some of my prior posts, I too am gay. I was married for 12 years, have a teen age son, and live with my partner of 7 years. I am happy, balanced, pay my bills, worship god, celebrate life and family just like millions of others.

So, why is being gay wrong. Having been extremely invloved in my church before coming out, the bible says it's wrong. So, for those who think that the BIBLE is the definitave guide to living a "christian life", it's easy to just say - gays are immoral.

The IRONY of that argument is that, as we all know, there are LOTS of things that are "immoral" and "wrong" in the bible, but those same bible-thumpers like to pick their "pet" issues to beat society up with. For example, divorce is wrong. Premarital sex is wrong. Yet, we know from all statistics that there are millions more marriages, people living together, having children out of wedlock, etc....then ALL the gay people combined. Yet, all we hear from the pulpit is how gay people are undercutting the fabric of american society and the family unit. That, it's ok to be gay, just don't act on it. Love the sinner, hate the sin. I could go ON AN ON.

Also, being a bit of a student of the scriptures, if one DOES take the bible literally - as THE DEFINITAVE GUIDE to living a christian life - then i will say this in closing.

12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

If you belive in Jesus and the bible, then THIS is your new commandment. It was Jesus' last wish to his people.

It dosn't say, "love christians, as i love you," or "Love Baptists' as I have loved you" - it says LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

So, to all of you who belive that being gay is a sin, or wrong, or unholy, etc....then please ask your God for forgiveness. For you have committed a greater sin in NOT following the last commandment!

I love my country. I love my God. I love my Son. I love my parents and family - and i love my partner. I even love those who hate be because of who i am - a child of god. A GAY child of god.
