[QUOTE]An international coalition of organizations that represent Latin American women and Latina women in the United States is demanding increased access to the female condom as an essential strategy to fight HIV/AIDS.
The 37-member coalition, which includes 28 organizations from 11 Latin American nations and 9 Latina advocacy and service organizations from the U.S., has released a World AIDS Day statement that calls on governments and international donors to step up their investment in programs that distribute the female condom and educate women and men on its use.

I personally wish that female condoms were more readily available as well. I've never seen them at Wal-Mart or the local pharmacy before (although I've never really done a thorough search for them either I've been in that area of the stores several times) and I know that my local family planning clinic doesn't offer them. I would love to see them more readily available.

The World Health Organization (a UN agency) has several studies ongoing in the third world regarding the female condom. While more expensive and not quite as convenient as standard condoms, it gives the woman greater control. They are also studying them for multiple use to reduce the cost. Rinsing them out and a vinegar soak seem to be working quite well.
I attempt to try the various contraceptives I recommend and I had two male partners assist with evaluating female condoms. Both reported that they gave a more realistic feel than male condoms. My guess is that because the male condom moves with the penis, sensation is reduced more. The penis moves within the female condom and, hence, feels more realistic to the man.
I felt silly with the thing dangling out my vagina until we got going. Then, not much difference. They are widely available in the UK.
Spicey:
If you go to the local drug store chains such as CVS or Walgreen's they are around. Additionally you can order them on-line from the on-line pharmacy's such as drugstore.com: http://www.drugstore.com/qxp71319_333181_sespider/f_c__female_condom/bar...
Personally, I do not care for them since I do find them annoying similar to what Brandye said...you insert it and have something hanging out...just a gorgeous site during oral!
Here is a clinic site with a number:

In Europe and N. America, Real;ity is the major brand. South of the equator, Avert is a common brand. There design is slightly different but they work essentially the same. Whils checking brands through Google (female condom), I came upon a discussion site on which several men also stated how less restrictive and more real feeling the female condoms are.
I do not like the lube that comes with them. Pu a bit of vaginal jelly in you AND in the female condom.
Hmmm, this is some cool information. Thanks guys! Anyway, I'm scheduled to get the Mirena IUC inserted next Tuesday and my doctor recommended that we use a condom for the first month because the strings could hurt my partner. Would a female condom serve this purpose well?

Ask Brandye! I cannot tell you...I hate the female condom...in fact I hate all condoms but they are necessary evils.
She is best off to inform you or ask your doc..call the office tomorrow & ask. The nurse there should even be able to provide you w/an answer. I do not insert IUD's! Just fix boo-boos...check placement, etc.

Ok, will do Sera!
A female condom would be perfect for this. Less chance than with a male condom of "pulling your string" if the placement is not perfect.
Is this what this thread is about?
Can anyone share an image of the actual product? Thanks
put female condom in google and you will see the product, how to insert and all sorts of magic things.
In other words, do for yourself what is easier than someone else doing for you.
