I'll strongly disagree... MCR is excellent... but then, theres some bands you might like that we think suck! LOL To each his own. "MCR is Emo" is about as lame as a 'dis' as it was to say back in the 80s-90s that "Poison was a bunch of posers". LMAO
Now personally.. I can take or leave 69 eyes, but I can absolutely appreciate MCR for the range of styles they can do, and well. But again, to each his own!

Im sorry man, but most 'goth' folks get pretty pissed off at people who base judgements on appearance. I mean, I see that all the time, and it sucks. Some of the goth people I know - wait - MOST of the goth people I know are some of the BEST people I know overall - and get pretty mad when someone judges them before they get to know them.

And, by the way - they completely kicked ass - and commented on the Emo thing. They made a point to say some people were talking **** about them being Emo and a death cult. Gerard said "We're not emo, we're no death cult. We would never encourage ANYONE to do anything like that - all we want is for our fans to be themselves, and don't take any **** from anyone!"

Slayer have stood the test of time. They're still huge now & they were huge in the 80's.
Id like to see MCR stand the test of time, they'll be just like all the other emo crap that came out. They'll die after a few years.

Hell, if I wanted to use your argument - time that is - Id be singing the praises of Phil Collins and Prince, um.. not. (Nothing against either of them, but longevity doesn't necessarily make you good.)
But, as I said, to each his own. Slayer has stayed the same, and hasn't produced anything thats IMO noteworthy SINCE the 1980's (and even thats a stretch). But then, I never understood the appeal. The best thing they ever put out there was a few great T shirts.
I'll stick with Tool, MCR, and the like - Slayer never did it for me.
