This DVD features five real life couples exploring new erotic techniques and some seductive fantasy role play. The purpose of this DVD is to encourage people to try new things in order to heat things up in the bedroom. Sinclair Institute highlights areas where couples can begin their exploration with guidance from resident experts along the way.
Mutual Oral Sex “69” is the premiere topic, probably because you receive and give pleasure at the same time. Sex Toys is next up for discussion and examines how to use sex toys on men and women. Unusual Positions shows how trying different positions leads to new sensations that both partners can enjoy. Erotic Role Play looks at stimulating our biggest sex organ, the brain and how sharing erotic fantasies and even acting them out can bring excitement to a relationship. G-spot Stimulation gives an overview of a sexual function that's shrouded in mystery and encourages women to at least try this form of pleasure.
The show then switches to longer sex demonstrations, with couples in various scenarios having sex from start to finish. All the while, the couples perform numerous sexual positions whose names get shown on the screen to describe each new position being presented. The demos in this section of the DVD are: Fantasy Wear; Ready, Willing and Table; Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down; Erotic Escapades.
Presentation 9/10
Overall, this one DVD production is a classy overview of some new ideas that could spark exploration and put some spice into your lovemaking. It gives viewers a sampling of useful suggestions that can be replicated or expanded upon. This is why lovers at every skill level can watch this presentation and learn something new or at least be led to inspiration in other areas of sex.
The host, Alana Pratt, a sensual living expert and coach, guides viewers through the progression of sexual techniques and positions. She was a skilled host who was bright and energetic. Dr. Lori Buckley Psy.D., one of Sinclair Institute’s consulting sex experts, also imparts her knowledge throughout the DVD and provides uplifting commentary and advice along the way.
With an approximate running time of 60 minutes, this presentation is easy to watch for its good organization and intimate sincerity portrayed by the couples. There is replay potential in this DVD for both titillation and as something to reference back to.
Content Quality 7/10
The content of this show is very useful and can easily be applied to real life situations. An average person could come away from watching this show with at least a few new ideas to try on their partner. I think that more of the focus is to provide the basics to educate novices, while including enough variations for experienced lovers to try. 32 Ways to Please Your Lover will ultimately be most useful for those who have novice to intermediate sexual experience.
The commentary was really useful during the demonstrations. It had the right balance of information, which included tips and facts. Sinclair Institute was successful at explaining the process of trying something while keeping each partner feeling comfortable; this was done particularly well during the segment called “Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down”. They did a good explanation of G-spot and one of the ladies demonstrated female ejaculation. However, I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t broach anal sex.
32 Ways to Please Your Lover was a fantastic exposé on erotic furniture! A number of the couples integrated them into role-plays as well as during lovemaking. Sinclair Institute did an excellent job of exhibiting basic positions on the sex shapes and even provided suggestions for how to take it another step further. There was also a good balance between female on top and man on top positions.
Sex Appeal 7/10
As always, Sinclair Institute features couples who model positive sexual behavior, those who are easy to identify with and exemplify good communication with their partners. The level of eroticism was on the conservative side, which may be an appealing feature for viewers who prefer it that way.
The DVD presents a sample of couples who represent a wide range of ages and body shapes, another appealing characteristic. Because the couples look like real attractive people, not models with unrealistic body shapes, it makes it easier for viewers to identify with then and feel comfortable watching the content.
I got the sense that some of the couples really did try these techniques for the very first time on camera; it’s a testament to their sincerity. They connected with one another very playfully and at some points were giggling and laughing out loud at themselves. The couples exhibited a sex appeal that was a combination of sexy and fun meets loving and attentive.
Video Quality 9/10
This 2008 production is shot with multiples cameras that slowly sweep the tastefully designed set. This created very natural vantage points. The production team was successful at keeping the audience tuned into each person’s facial expressions; there were also a tasteful amount of close up shots. I only wished they varied the couples more; there was one part where you watch a couple in an extended scene 3 times in a row. I think this DVD could have laid the content out better by staggering the couples.
A detail I thought was great was that, at the end of the show, you could see a detailed listing of all of the items that were used during the production, from fantasy costumes, lubricants and bed throws down to the paddles and feather ticklers. So many people forget to include this!
Audio Quality 8/10
The audio quality was excellent: there was a perfect balance between voiceover, commentary, music and audio from the couple. The quality was so crisp, with no sound interference from props or furniture. The music created a relaxed atmosphere and was very characteristic of many other Sinclair Institute productions.
Extra Features n/a
There were no extra features included in this DVD – this was a bit surprising to me because I haven’t seen a Sinclair Institute presentation that didn’t have any.
Overall Score 8/10
An hour spent watching this video is both entertaining and educational. It’s also motivating; it’s not about being the most acrobatic or the most audacious, rather, this adult instructional promotes having some fun and experiencing some more excitement in your sex life.
